Eco-Friendly Kitchen
Jennifer Gilmer Kitchen & Bath, Ltd.
Chevy Chase, MD
Designer: Jennifer L. Gilmer, CKD
Co-Designer: Amy Gardner, LEED
Design Notes: Remodeled along with the rest of the 1950s split-level home, this kitchen received a contemporary green makeover. A peninsula and an island topped with black granite and crosscut bamboo butcher-block counters separate the kitchen from the living and dining rooms. Energy Star appliances and dark-stained cabinets made from PureBond plywood contribute to the sustainable sensibility.
Products and Materials: BlueStar range, Sub-Zero refrigerator, Premier Custom-Built cabinetry, engineered rubber flooring.
