A High-Rise Farmhouse Kitchen
Glen Alspaugh Kitchens & Baths
St. Louis, MO
Designer: James Howard, CKD, CBD
Co-Designers: Steve Levin & Sonja Willman
Design Notes: Located in a high-rise, this kitchen gets its farmhouse feel from the use of metal, stone and wood. The homeowner chose an onyx countertop lit from below for the L-shaped island’s bar top; it also has granite and wood counter surfaces. Red and green stained cherry cabinets with pewter chicken wire inserts complement the paneled built-in refrigerator and freezer, designed to look like an antique oak ice box.
Products and Materials: Creme Bordeaux granite, Craft-Art white oak wood and Golden Water onyx countertops; Wolf range; Sub-Zero refrigerator; RangeCraft custom copper range hood; hand-planed white oak flooring; Hi-Lite copper pendant lighting; W.F. Norman tin sheet metal ceiling; Premier Custom-Built cabinetry.
